Stories from Camp

There’s nothing quite like hearing from those who have been encouraged by their time with us at camp. We will be working hard to share stories from camp as we are made aware. Share in our encouragement from the following experiences at camp. The following stories come from campers, counselors, and staff who have witnessed firsthand what God is doing in the hearts of campers!1

April 2025, Guest: “Our men were challenged to be those who fight for reconciliation, diligence, and self-control and how this all flows from a heart of love for Christ. True worship flows from a clean conscience.

March 2025, Man Camp: “I made a commitment to serve my family and be a better husband at this camp. I was actually glad there was no WiFi, I needed a break from social media, phones, and internet.

February 2025, Pastor: “One of our counselors stood up to receive Christ. I had been meeting with him frequently leading up to camp and we had good Gospel conversations. Three total from our group accepted Christ.

February 2025, Leader: One boy was here with me least year and did not commit his life, was a goof-off and last year rang the bell as a joke…He was back in camp this year with an open heart to the message. He accepted Jesus into his heart last night and told us he needs Jesus to come alongside him and help him. Today, he gets to ring the bell for real…

February 2025, Leader: One kid, after devotional, said “I just noticed that reading the Bible could be SO interesting! I was reading the story of Elijah and it is very interesting. I’ve never read the Bible like that before.”

February 2025, Leader: (redacted for privacy – had been pulled by CWS for a time)…student was able to let go of the bitterness and resentment towards her mom, and just let God! She is a first-time camper and made the decision to accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior this weekend.

January 2025, Camper: “I learned a lot more about God and who He is. Me and my friends went up to the cross and watched God’s creation.”

January 2025, Camper: “Sunday night at the end of session, we all were sitting on the ground together, crying, praying, and worshiping, and we shared…by doing this, we grew closer with each other.”

January 2025, Leader: “Several students expressed conviction to pursue God’s design for purity, dating and relationships. One particular guy is just becoming acquainted with Jesus.”

Family: December 2024 “I came for many years with my family and you were a great blessing to us all…I pray your ministry will grow spiritually and practically this coming year. Thank you for your support and blessing at your camps over the past years.” (We are thankful for the families we serve)

Camper: Summer 2023 We had a camper who proclaimed their atheism at the start of camp to the whole cabin, even mocking others for their faith. A couple of nights in, they were much quieter, and as the week drew on, this same camper accepted Christ as their Lord. (God softens hearts!)

Camper: At a summer workshop on “Why bad things happen,” a camper was able to let go of the guilt and burden he had been carrying concerning both parent’s death. He learned that they did not die because of the way he prayed! (What a burden to have carried!)
